“Red” is a 1979 Saloon.

Before I purchased him he was involved in a front end accident. A new front apron and new front fenders were installed. A new engine was also installed, here are some of the details:

• rebuilt 1275cc engine done by Craig’s Auto
• 30 over
• Cooper Cam
• Lightened Flywheel
• Racing Clutch
• Howley Intake Manifold
• Jack Knight Overdrive Input Gear
• Fined Chrome Valve Cover
• K & N Air Filter
• 1¾ Carburetor
• 4 Core Radiator
• Header
• Bottom Engine Stabilizers
• RC 40 Exhaust System

The engine was working well but the front was still in primer when I purchased him. This was fixed after a quick visit to Craig’s. The only problem is that the front end’s paint job looks better than the rest. Once the funds are their the rest will be painted. Some of the other details of this little car are:

• Sunroof
• Three inch Tach
• Grant GT Steering Wheel
• Red Bucket seats out of a MR2
• 10 inch Mags with 165/70 tires

I purchased “Red” in May 2000, I have had no grand adventures in him, yet. Being a Mini adventures seem to just happen. Future plans are:

• Oil cooler
• Disk brakes
